Stimson-Stone Wedding

On a beautiful day in June of 2009, I had the opportunity to photograph another wedding. A dear friend I have known since we were both fourteen called me to tell me she was getting married and even though it was short notice, could I take the wedding photographs?

With happiness in my heart for my friend and excitement for another shot at honing my passion, I agreed.

With little time to prepare, I made a trip the week before the wedding out to the park where the wedding would take place to get a general idea of what I had to work with for background. The area they chose could not have been more perfect for an outdoor wedding and I was thrilled to take pictures with such open space, giving the couple all of the attention in every click!

Thrush-Hull Wedding

In early 2009, a long time friend of mine, Lorena, was preparing for her wedding.

Her original photographer, a friend of her older sister's, ended up being unable to photograph the wedding and informed us in plenty of time beforehand.

Knowing I had not yet had the opportunity to photograph a big event such as a that, the Thrush family made the decision to ask me to be the photographer.

I was so thrilled that I immediately agreed and began putting together ideas of exactly what poses I may want, what specific moments to carefully capture. I remember pouring over a wedding book, trying to make sure I remembered all the specific traditional moments that I wouldn't want to forget or overlook.

The hardest part was the location of the wedding and reception changed a time or two during the final planning stages so having ideas about the location itself was a little difficult.

After all was said and done though, I feel proud of how everything turned out that beautiful and sunny afternoon!

Angela Faye Photography

Hello everyone and welcome to my Photography Blog.

My name is Angela. I've created this blog as a way to share the photographs I take with friends and loved ones and anyone else who may be interested in the work I do.

I suppose a proper place to start would be to tell you a little bit about myself. I am nearly twenty-five years old. I live in Alma, Michigan. I am currently preparing to apply back to college to study creative writing and photography. I am hoping to attend Central Michigan University next year.
After Central, it is my very dearest hope to attend Vancouver Film School in Canada to study script writing for film and television.

For as long as I can recall, I've never felt happier than with either a camera or a writing instrument in my hands.

In 2009, I took my picturing-taking passion to the next level and decided to challenge myself with shooting large events.

My first photo shoot was a wedding in May of 2009 for a dear friend on her special day. I've had very little time or opportunity to do many of these events, however, I am hoping as the future unfolds and people see the work I can do, I will get to share in more joy with others as I help them make their most precious memories fill their photo albums.

The camera I am currently using is a Nikon D40 6.1MP SLR Digital Camera that I am completely in love with.

I use a very specific editing program for my pictures that I have become familiar with over the past couple of years called GIMP. More information can be found at http://www.gimp.org about the program. While I credit this program with giving me the capability to put the work into these photos that I do, the creative touch and ideas for each and every picture I edit are mine and mine alone.

Every photograph I take I look over thoroughly and aside from editing general lighting and red-eye effects, I do enjoy, as you can see in each blog I post here, giving them my own special touch.

Anyone interested in speaking with me about the work I do and whether or not I am available near you for weddings, graduation parties, engagement photos, birthdays and etc, feel free to email me. I look forward to every new event I have the distinct pleasure of capturing and helping you to savor the most important moments in your life in the best way possible!

I hope you'll come on this journey with me!

Now, on with the show!
